Backhoe Operator
We are reviewing LOCAL applicants only. The ideal candidate will be no more than 45-minutes from Thorndale, Ontario.
Duties:
- Work in tandem with a laborer, digging connection holes for tile and previously installed tile locating. As a team, the role is to work ahead of the tile plow so it does not need to stop unnecessarily.
- The operator will also work as a laborer as needed throughout the day to provide support to the tile plow (shoveling, bring tile supplies to the plow or an area of the field)
- Miscellaneous digging or moving of soil/material in the field.
- When weather co-operates, expect a 50 hour work week. When poor weather occurs, some hours will be offered in the shop with miscellaneous jobs.
- 7am start time, Monday – Friday. Some Saturday hours may be available but are not mandatory.
- Transportation to the jobsite is provided.
Qualifications:
– Previous experience operating a backhoe or similar heavy equipment is required
– Mechanical knowledge and understanding of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints or construction plans
– Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
– Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions
– Valid driver’s license

Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 60 per week
